Captivating Watercolor Batiks
Watercolor Batik is a unique process that gets the most unexpected results. The process is multiple layers of transparent watercolor, using wax as a resist to save the bright colors, then the removal of the wax at the end. The paper is a beautiful handmade thin rice paper with hemp fiber embedded. I use multiple tools such Tjaunting tools, Kristas and Tjaps from Indonesia. Often, I will embellish the piece with oil pastels.
